What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an event where groups of developers, designers, project managers and other experts (with different backgrounds) collabore together intensivelly to create an app, prototype or website in 24h of a specific subject.
In other words, as fast as you can!
About Diplohack Brussels
The Council of the European Union organised Diplohack Brussels and it was my first experience in this type of events. Here the aim was to build an application that enables European citizens to truly understand what is going on in Europe.
It was such an experience, as there were not only designers and developers but also diplomats, developers, citizens, students, journalists, etc.
In 24h we had to think and develop something that helped make decision-making on an European level searchable and understandable for everyone. And we created EnergyZip, which is a webvisualization examining European structural and investment funds for renewable energy.
We won the 3rd place. Thanks Council for this amazing experience!
